If you’re playing Modern Warfare 2 and wondering what weapon would give you some extra firepower to weild, you really should consider the RPK – a light machine gun receiver from the Kastovia weapon platform. Of course, when it comes to putting together a class, there’s a little more to it than that. So, that’s why we’re going to go over the best Modern Warfare 2 RPK loadout below.

With the right attachments, the RPK can be one of the best Modern Warfare 2 LMGs.  It’s going to have a bit more of a kick than other weapons in this class, but that can be managed and mitigated – it doesn’t necessarily need to be a laser beam to be one of the best Modern Warfare 2 weapons in the game. But, of course, that does help quite a lot – so, keep reading for everything you need to know about this RPK’s class setup.

Best Modern Warfare 2 RPK loadout

Right, let’s start things off with the infamous RPK itself. Here’s what you need to know about the best Modern Warfare 2 RPK loadout – with the build courtesy of Call of Duty content creator ‘Klay‘:

  • Receiver: RPK
  • Barrel: KAS-7 406mm Barrel
  • Underbarrel: VX Pineapple
  • Laser: Corio LAZ-44 V3
  • Stock: Prolite TL3 Stock
  • Rear Grip: Demo-X2 Grip

Looking at this build, you’re going to be bringing the RPK more in-line with some of the best assault rifles in Modern Warfare 2. That means, as per Klay’s suggestion, you’re going to want to pick the Prolite TL3 Stock – which improves aim down sight speed and movement speeds. This is improved upon with the aforementioned barrel attchment – something that also helps to improve this weapon’s hipfire capabilities.

The recoil kick of the RPK will be mitigated somewhat with the Demo-X2 Grip, though, which improves recoil control at the cost of aiming stability. Recoil steadiness is improved further with the VX Pineapple underbarrel attachment. The lacking aiming stabilty is going to be managed with the Corio Laz-44 V3 laser, though. So, you don’t need to worry about it all too much.

Best Modern Warfare 2 RPK class setup

When it comes to the rest of this RPK class, things are going to seem pretty straight-forward. A meta is already being established when it comes to things like equipment options and perks – but, it’s still worth talking about.

For the secondary weapon, you’re going to want to be using the X13 Auto handgun. This fully-automatic pistol will shred enemies at close ranges and get you out of a pickle when it comes to being caught out reloading. If you want to get your hands on a fully-kitted out X13 Auto, you can find out more on how to get the Side Impact blueprint for this weapon here.

When it comes to perks, we recommend using Extra Tactical and Bomb Squad in the base perk slots. Extra Tactical is going to help you make the most of your equipment and Bomb Squad should help to protect you from other people’s equipment – so, you should live longer and make the most of this RPK.

In the bonus perk slot, we recommend Hardline – or Fast Hands if you’re finding yourself caught out by this weapon’s slower reload speed a lot. And, finally, in the ultimate perk slot, Ghost is the best option. However, Quick Fix is also a good idea if you’re planning on pushing with this RPK – provided you can get kills, of course.

In the equipment slots, Semtex and Stun Grenades are the best options and the Trophy System field upgrade is a safe bet. Essentially, you should find this class’ survivability is through the roof. Just, try to avoid enemy gunfire?
