After years of rumors and speculation Konami has brought the series back, so look no further for the Silent Hill 2 remake release date for PS5 and PC.

Silent History 2 Remake Release Date: a character can be seen

When is the Silent Hill 2 remake release date? Yes, Konami’s franchise is back. Silent Hill has returned in a number of ways but one of the biggest is the fact that Bloober is working on a remake of Silent Hill 2. But, what is being updated with this new game, what changes are being made, and most importantly, when is it coming out?

Taking on the lofty task of trying to modernize this class and keep everything players loved so much, veteran of horror Bloober Team is looking to break out with Silent Hill 2 when it hits PS5 and Steam PC. Silent Hill 2 is one of the best horror games of all time, so seeing it brought into modern times will certainly be a treat for fans of the series and the genre. Here’s everything we know.

Silent Hill 2 remake release date leak

The Silent Hill 2 remake release date is expected to be Friday, September 29, 2023, on PS5 and PC, according to a leaked retail listing for the game. This date is absolutely believable, as Bloober Team previously said that the game was “technically ready” to launch.

This statement from Piotr Babieno, the CEO of Bloober Team, came from Bankier. However, following that statement Bloober Team took to Twitter to calm down fans and clearly explain that although the game was “technically ready” it would take time to add final layers of polish and launch later in the year. September 29 could now be that long-awaited date.

Perhaps most interestingly though, this date places the Silent Hill 2 Remake in the same window as the original version, which launched September 24, 2001. So, this leaked release date certainly has some weight to it, marking over two decades between the original and the remake of this landmark title. We couldn’t imagine a more perfect celebration of this iconic game than getting to replay it like never before.

Silent Hill 2 remake platforms

The Silent Hill 2 remake is set to launch on PS5 and PC. The game is set to be a 12-month console exclusive for PS5. Therefore, you shouldn’t expect the game to hit Xbox Series X|S until September, 2024, at the earliest, providing the leaked date is accurate.

And, there is no guarantee it will even hit Xbox once that agreement ends, as several other Sony timed exclusives haven’t hit the platform, such as Kena Bridge of Spirits.

Nevertheless, we hope Xbox players will get the chance to dive into the overhauled survival horror experience, as many fans will have come from the launch of the original on Xbox, or the remaster on Xbox 360.

Silent Hill 2 remake trailer

The first Silent Hill 2 remake trailer was revealed at the Silent Hill Transmission, which shows off Bloober Team’s remake of the game. This version of the game sees the return of Masahiro Ito and Akira Yamaoka and is from an over-the-shoulder perspective.

The team at Bloober is aimed at blending the “old and the new” of the series and making the game as important as it originally was, but this time in Unreal Engine 5. Mateusz Lenart, the creative director of The Medium is the lead director on the game, and a brand new sound design and music style was implemented for the remake.
