Is Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 multiplayer co-op? With both Miles Morales and Peter Parker being the Spider-Men of New York, it would be great to swing around with a friend and take on the different criminals causing chaos, especially with Venom taking the lead role as the antagonist.
As each day passes by, we get closer and closer to the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 release date, with plenty of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 characters waiting for us to play this PS5 exclusive. We’re hoping it ends up being one of the best PS5 games, but can you and someone else play Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 together?
Is Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 multiplayer co-op?
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 does not feature multiplayer co-op and is purely a single-player adventure, meaning you can’t play with friends. This was confirmed by Insomniac Games on its official Twitter account while replying to fans asking about co-op.
Considering the fact that both previous games in the Insomniac version of the beloved wall-crawler had no multiplayer elements whatsoever, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to many of you. However, as much as we’d love to see a co-op game where you can swing and fight across New York with a friend, it seems Insomniac Games is focusing on creating a solid single-player story.
However, imagine this with me for a moment. Both you and your friend are swinging in different parts of the city, and whoever is playing as Peter Parker is taking on an enemy base that they’re struggling to complete. Then, your friend playing as Miles Morales swings in to help, and you can perform tag-team finishers and use a variety of gadgets together. I, personally, think that would be pretty amazing. But, it’s understandable why Insomniac Games decided to not go this route for the sequel.
