While the best Warzone guns in this guide are the core of each loadout, there’s a whole lot more to the game’s meta than just the pieces of your arsenal that fire bullets. To craft the best Warzone loadouts you need to consider useful strategies for surviving in a match, and also pairing the guns with good perks and equipment too.
What is the Warzone meta?
The current Warzone meta in Season 5 is:
- Kastov 762, Lachmann Sub, VEL 46, Tempus Razorback – meta weapons
- Smoke Grenades (tactical), stun grenades (tactical), throwing knives (lethal) – meta equipment
- Bomb Squad, Fast Hands, High Alert, Overkill – meta perks

As mentioned, weapons are at the heart of any great build and the Tempus Razorback and Kastov 762 are at the top right now. The Kastov has climbed back up in these rankings after slipping quite a bit earlier this year. But, it has regained a lot of its strengths thanks to some buffs and as such it is definitely worth using with our best Warzone Kastov 762 loadout.
The Tempus Razorback is another AR that is holding its spot right now. While sitting in the middle of the pack since its introduction, weapon buffs and nerfs has meant that it is now one of the go-to weapons to use in the game. Our Warzone best Tempus Razorback loadout is a great build for it.
If you want to spray and pray though, or just hit enemies with a barrage of bullets, the VEL 46 has seen a significant increase in usability with Season 5. This gun is now the most dominant SMG in the game, especially with our best Warzone VEL 46 loadout. if you prefer a slower firing SMG then the Lachmann Sub is your option and a pretty good one to choose. Smoke Grenades (tactical), stun grenades (tactical), throwing knives (lethal) – best equipment
The best equipment to run in Warzone is a combination of Smoke Grenades and Throwing Knives. You could swap those Smokes out for Stun Grenades, especially in Ashika Island’s Resurgence Mode. But, generally, there aren’t many better options when it comes to the meta in the game currently.
Throwing Knives, in the lethal slot just gives you that extra long-range capability, able to silence an enemy quickly with one throw. It can also instantly end someone up close if they catch you off-guard around a corner.
Overkill, Bomb Squad, Fast Hands, High Alert – meta perks
The perks you want to use are Overkill, Bomb Squad, Fast Hands, and High Alert in the current Warzone meta. This essentially improves your survivability and allows you to have two primary weapons which has always been the gameplan in the battle royale over the last few years since it launched. It is also perfect for Warzone Ranked Play if you are playing the competitive mode.
If you already have two excellent loadout-worthy weapons in hand though, such as a good pistol, or want to even run with a launcher if it suits your playstyle, we recommend having a class built with Tracker. This will just allow you to keep your eye on enemies and track them. It can pair well with the Vaznev or another close-range SMG, shotgun, or pistol.

The game is one of the best battle royales and best competitive FPS games out there, so you will want to be able to succeed in matches for bragging rights to your friends, or just for your own personal achievement.
