Mortal Kombat 1 characters tier list
Here’s the current Mortal Kombat 1 characters tier list for July 2023:
- S-Tier – Liu Kang, Sub-Zero
- A-Tier – Kitana, Kenshi
- B-Tier – TBD
- C-Tier – TBD
This tier list is based on our hands-on experience with the Mortal Kombat 1 Stress Test. As we approach the Mortal Kombat 1 release date, alongside the Mortal Kombat 1 beta dates, we will adjust the tier list to match.
S-Tier
S-Tier characters are the strongest in the game, both for beginners and veterans. Whether they have plenty of advantages to playing and learning, while very few shortcomings, making them a perfect choice for your next match.
Liu Kang
Currently the strongest in Mortal Kombat 1, Liu Kang easily decimates any of his foes if you learn his combos. It’s fitting, with him being the Fire God of the new universe. He has a large variety of close and long-range combos and isn’t too difficult to learn. This makes him a top choice for you to learn.
Sub-Zero
While Sub-Zero isn’t the best in the game right now, he’s definitely worthy of being in the S-Tier. He makes up for his lack of ranged combos with a variety of hard-hitting and long short-ranged combos that can trap any unknowing opponent into a corner.
A-Tier
The A-Tier is for characters who are almost as excellent as the S-Tier, but they have a few weaknesses or difficult learning paths to make them as strong as the top characters in our list.
Kitana
With exceedingly fast combos and a range of different combos, Kitana is setting herself up as one of the best characters in the game. However, she is difficult to learn, causing her to drop down from her S-Tier potential, solidifying her as the top A-Tier character.
Kenshi
Kenshi has some excellent combo potential, as well as a variety of combos with varying ranges to allow him to control the arena and decimate opponents. That being said, he is quite slow, as well as the fact he can be difficult to learn, but his strong combos keep him in the A-Tier.
That’s the best fighters in our Mortal Kombat 1 characters tier list for July 2023. Make sure to put in your Mortal Kombat 1 pre-orders to get access to the upcoming beta, and find out how to play Mortal Kombat 1 early too.
