When is the FC 24 beta? The start of the 2023/24 soccer season is on the horizon and that means that EA FC 24 is almost here too. For those living under a rock, due to licensing disputes, there’s a shake up to the naming convention of EA Sports’ soccer series, ditching FIFA and moving to the new title of EA FC. There’d be high demand to get into a FIFA 24 beta regardless, but with the name change comes even more eagerness to hop in early and see what’s what.
Thankfully, we’ve done as much digging as we can on the FC 24 beta, giving you some insight as to whether it will exist similarly to the FIFA games before, and any potential dates attached to it. While the full FC 24 release date really isn’t all that far away, that doesn’t stop players wanting to get a look at the game as early as possible, so here’s everything you need to know.
EA 24 FC beta details
Currently, we haven’t got any official confirmation as to whether there will be an EA FC 24 beta, but in our eyes, it would be a huge misstep if it wasn’t to make an appearance, and expect some kind of beta to appear before launch.
EA Sports has employed the beta tactic for many years now for its annual soccer games, allowing a select few to get their hands on the game before any early access period. While it does have a practical uses for bug catching and gameplay tuning, it’s also a handy pre-launch marketing beat to drum up more hype for the upcoming game.
What we do expect if the FC 24 beta does get officially announced is that you’ll be able to play scaled-back versions of Kick Off, Career Mode, Ultimate Team, VOLTA Football, or Pro Clubs.
If you’re a fan of leaks, a reliable source in the Windows and Xbox space has suggested that the EA FC beta is in fact real and has detailed the download size of both Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S versions. This comes from Aggiornamenti Lumia, who states that you’ll be looking at a 39.23GB install on Xbox One and 41.57GB on Xbox Series X/S.
While all leaks shouldn’t be taken as gospel, this individual has been a reliable source previously and has no real reason to spread false information. All that we can do now though is simply wait for EA to give us all the juicy details.
EA FC 24 beta dates
While we still haven’t got absolute concrete details that an EA FC beta exists, if one does come to fruition, we’ve got a rough idea as to what dates we could be seeing based on previous FIFA betas.
Last year, FIFA 23’s beta ran from August 11, 2022 until September 2, 2022, lasting approximately three weeks. For the EA FC beta, we could see something similar considering FC 24’s release date will be landing at pretty much the same time that FIFA 23’s did.
However, with all this being said, even though we’ve got both an announcement and reveal trailer for the game, this is just speculation at this current time. What we will do is update any EA FC beta dates when these come in.

As with FIFA betas in days gone, technically there is no real way to specifically sign up for the EA FC beta. However, what you can do is perform various steps to increase your chances of being selected. These involve heading to the EA website, changing a few preferences, and signing up to be a playtester.
To make things easier for you, here is a breakdown of what you need to do to potentially become part of the EA FC beta:
- Go to the EA website and log into your account
- Open up your account via your profile picture and then into Account Settings
- Open Email Preferences and ensure the Yes option is enabled
- Once this is done, add FIFA/ EA FC to your Preferred Games
- Now move to the Electronic Arts Playtesting section, hit join, and fill in the form
If you do all of the above, this will give you the best possible chance of being in the EA FC beta – if things stay the same as FIFA 23. However, there’s no guarantee you’ll be selected, and sadly, the beta cannot be made available to absolutely everyone.
One potential saving grace is that even if you don’t get into the beta at the very beginning, in the past, EA has expanded the pool of participants as time goes on. So, with this in mind, keep checking your emails for the golden ticket during the beta dates as you could be in luck.
If there is a beta, it’ll give players a chance to check out some brand new features like FC 24 PlayStyles and the new Evolutions upgrade system in Ultimate Team. With new FC 24 crossplay features coming to the game as well, it could also be a good chance to test cross-platform matchmaking.
