With such a choice, there’s a lot of Jedi lore, Force-wielding, and Jedi vs. Sith battling to unwrap, devour, and protect. Fortunately, you don’t have to travel to a galaxy far, far away to enjoy such Star Wars wonderment. We’ve got them right here… right now… in the list… below. You get the picture.
From the sentimentality of Battlefront to the new and Fallen Order, there’s a vast spectrum both in the timeline and gameplay offering. Decades worth, in fact. Some set deep within the Star Wars universe, some set after, and some before all adding to the rich tapestry first woven by George Lucas. Looking to get console-specific? Fear not. 1. Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order
In the aftermath of Order 66, a new protagonist in a galaxy far, far away comes to the fore in Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order. You play as Cal Kestis, a Jedi Padawan, living on the run whilst continuing to fight the Galactic Empire.
From Respawn Entertainment, this third-person action title follows Cal as he continues his training in the midst of turmoil. And, most importantly, he’s mastering the art of lightsaber combat, which is a rather wonderful part of the gameplay.
Players will need to channel their inner Jedi as they learn alongside Cal that strategizing and focusing on harnessing powerful Force abilities is the key to success. All whilst trying to revive the Jedi Order. A busy, busy bit of work.

2. Star Wars Jedi Survivor
The next chapter of Cal’s journey comes in a 2023-aged package named, Star Wars Jedi Survivor. Five years after the events of Fallen Order, the layers of rich narrative keep piling up as Cal continues his fight, but now bearing the Jedi Knight rank.
It’s not just the story that has a new depth in this second installment, as the combat, movement, exploration, and the Force itself have all been boosted with more fortitude. And, of course, more spectacular lightsaber moves. Respawn Entertainment took what they created in Fallen Order and turned it up a notch and as such, have crafted another excellent Star Wars adventure.

3. Star Wars Jedi Knight II Jedi Outcast
The spectacular lightsaber combat of the newer Star Wars titles was not the first though. 2002’s Jedi Outcast also harnessed the full power of the Force in its plight against evil in awesome fashion. Three styles of play; fast, medium, and strong make for differing attacks to unleash.
As the follow-up to Mysteries of the Sith, Jedi Outcast continued the story of Kyle Katarn three years after as he single-handedly takes on the Empire. Once again, he finds himself torn between his allegiance to the Dark or Light side. On his journey, there’s plenty of gameplay to enjoy with both a single-player mode as well as six different multiplayer modes bringing an impressive wealth of choice.
Although holding a somehow now archaic 2002 release date, Jedi Outcast has since been ported to PS4 and Nintendo Switch, as well as being made backward compatible on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. As such, you can seize it on the storefronts right now!
4. Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga
Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga is somewhat of a compendium of Star Wars gloriousness. Not only are players gifted the ability to play through all nine movies that make up the three trilogies, but you can play as almost any character you want from the Star Wars universe. Plus, it’s all told in the whimsical, witty nature of a Lego game as told by the iconic blocky figurines. Because who doesn’t want to know what Lego Grogu would look like?
Almost two decades after developer Traveller’s Tales bought out their first-ever Lego game, which was coincidentally a Star Wars title, they came back to show players what they’ve learned during their tenure. Skywalker Saga shows off updated graphics, an overhauled combat system, and some new lighthearted voice acting. This title allows a chance to experience the action alongside humor that stands firm in the Star Wars galaxy.

5. Star Wars Squadrons
Up next, have you ever wanted to engage in some space battles? Well, Star Wars Squadrons takes players behind the controls of a ship to do just that. Set after the events of Return of the Jedi, Squadrons’ single-player campaign asks you to choose a side – the New Republic’s Vanguard Squadron or the Galactic Empire’s Titan Squadron. Chosen a side? Now for some epic cosmos combat.
Being a 2020 title means that developer Motive Studio also had the opportunity to make Squadrons VR compatible, so they did. For a chance to well and truly experience jumping into the X-wing cockpit, plug yourself into the right system and you’re good to go.. Of course, you can play without, but the ability to fully immerse in the Star Wars universe gives Squadrons a competitive edge.
While you can buy Squadrons outright on both Xbox, PS4, and PC, we’d absolutely recommend picking up an EA Play membership or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription to enjoy it amongst lots of other great titles (some of which are on this list).
6. Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic
There are a lot of avenues to explore in the Star Wars galaxy, but Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic chose its very own. Basing itself four thousand years before the movie timeline begins, KOTOR created a load of new and unique lore to the Star Wars universe.
Overarching the storyline is the player’s decision on whether to join the Light or Dark side of the Force. A choice that is made progressively throughout the quest to become a powerful Jedi master via your character’s actions and speech choices.
In some circles, KOTOR is arguably the best of the best when it comes to Star Wars games. We’ve no strict order here, though, just a general enjoyment of Star Wars gaming. This title was the landmark RPG for developer BioWare who has since crafted such franchises as Baldur’s Gate and Neverwinter Nights. Although there’s been talk of a KOTOR remake including speculation around the Knights of the Old Republic remake release date, the original is currently only available on the Xbox storefront, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
7. Star Wars Republic Commando
A unique entry to our list comes in the form of tactical FPS, Republic Commando. Instead of burying itself in the conflict between Jedi and Sith, this title opts instead to assign players the role of RC-1138 (aka Boss) to lead an elite squad of Clone Troopers. You command the squad and they’ll follow.
This tactical shooter embraces a more military-heavy angle to the Star Wars universe, so if that’s your bag then you’re in for a treat. There’s some epic set-pieces, gripping combat, and glistening camaraderie between you and the squad.
Formally a Xbox-exclusive, Republic Commando was ported to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation in 2021 meaning it can be enjoyed by a new wealth of players. So, grab it on the Xbox, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
8. Star Wars Battlefront II – Classic 2005
No doubt you’ll have heard of Star Wars Battlefront from both the classic and modern era, and we’ll get around to both. To start though, we turn our focus to 2005’s foundational title.
Based in iconic Star Wars locations, its beauty shines through in nostalgia. Which, in fairness, is a large part of the Star Wars universe as a whole. Battlefront II built upon its predecessor in several ways, but one prominent addition was its single-player mode joining Darth Vader’s elite 501st Legion of Stormtroopers.
And, the multiplayer battlegrounds are a joyous Star Wars playground where players battle it out as part of the Resistance or Empire forces, of which improved online features have been released in more recent years.
Unfortunately, for PlayStation players, you can only jump into this title on Xbox. But, the 2015 reboot and its sequel is available for both.
9. Star Wars The Force Unleashed
As we near the end of our list, perhaps you’re in the market for a little bit, okay, a lot of fun to relish those iconic Star Wars moments. Well, Star Wars The Force Unleashed is a hack-and-slash title that reimagines the canon by putting players in the role of Darth Vader’s “secret apprentice”, Starkiller.
Whilst combat-heavy, it’s not all that The Force Unleashed navigates as it has a wonderfully cinematic narrative to boot. The mechanics may become repetitive, but they are still vast, and using your Force abilities is, like we said, a hell of a lot of fun. You guide Starkiller through waves of enemies, knocking them down as you unleash devastating combos. Think gripping, throwing, and lightsaber throwing. It’s a chance to truly experience the Dark side. Go on, you know you fancy it.

10. Star Wars Battlefront II (2017)
And finally, DICE’s revival of the iconic Battlefront title that we talked about earlier came along in 2017. With such big shoes to fill, it didn’t get off to the best start (cough, microtransactions, cough). Fortunately, they persevered with free support and updates that breathed fresh life into the game, and a redemption arc was formed.
Excellent multiplayer mode and single-player campaign that takes you on a journey through the Star Wars movie universe, in order. That means ticking off some iconic moments from a whole new perspective. You lucky, lucky thing.
