Although it’s been a difficult year for the Liverpool man, we expect Trent Alexander-Arnold to be the best EA FC 24 RB, even with a one point drop in rating from the 87 overall he’s enjoyed over the past few years.
While some may consider TAA lucky to get away with a light tap to his stats – especially considering Kieran Trippier’s fantastic year at Newcastle – the wing-back-turned-CM was able to rediscover his prolific form towards the end of the season. Whether or not Jürgen Klopp will convert him to an out-and-out CM this season remains to be seen, but for now we’re classing him as an RB.
Moving down the list, Kyle Walker found himself out of favor at Manchester City last season, and could be on the way out of the Etihad. As this appears to be due to a stylistic mismatch with how Pep Guardiola wishes to set his team up going forward, rather than a drop off in form (or his freakish pace), we’re hesitant to downgrade him for now.
The aforementioned Kieran Trippier, as well as the emerging Jeremie Frimpong should both get a +1 bump to their ratings. At 32 years of age, Trippier is ageing like a fine wine, and was paramount to Newcastle’s Champions League qualification – the first time the Magpies have been in the competition since 2003. Frimpong, meanwhile, had a standout year at Bayer Leverkusen, netting eight times while offering up seven assists in the Bundesliga – an elite-tier return.
Elsewhere in the ratings, all remains relatively quiet in terms of movers and shakers. Jules Koundé may have gotten a TOTS card yet again, but it was nearly identical to that which he received in FIFA 2022. As such, we can’t see EA bumping him up to an 85 just yet.
