PSVR 2 Best Games: A player can be seen aiming at a machine

1. Horizon Call of the Mountain

The premiere PSVR 2 launch title, Horizon Call of the Mountain is a fantastic immersive VR experience that puts you into the Horizon world like never before. With deadly machines to fight and a towering mountain to climb, you will experience many of the PSVR 2’s new features while you play.

The narrative is a little dull in places – especially if you’re not a Horizon fan – but the views on offer as you climb higher and higher are worth every single penny. You can read our Horizon Call of the Mountain review right here.

You can also find out more about the game’s offerings via our Call of the Mountain walkthrough.

PSVR 2 Best Games: Lady Dimitrescu can be seen

2. Resident Evil Village

Resident Evil Village is a fantastic game, but its PSVR 2 mode brings a new level of terror as you are exploring Lady Dimitrescu’s castle and the surrounding area. With new systems and combat options offered in VR, there isn’t anything like running away from vampires and werewolves while trying to save your daughter.

Full of scares and offering a great new selection of environments for the series, you shouldn’t skip out on Resident Evil Village for PSVR 2. Although, maybe bring a spare pair of underwear for when you tackle House Beneviento.

PSVR 2 Best Games: Two players can be seen playing Tetris

3. Tetris Effect Connected

What else is there to say about Tetris Effect Connected at this point? The remastered version of the masterful take on the classic game brings a host of new modes and gameplay options to the already-packed puzzle game.

The addition of multiplayer, and the gorgeous visuals in PSVR 2 mean that Tetris Effect Connected is the best it has ever been. Whether you are new to Tetris Effect or have been playing for years, you would be silly to skip it on PSVR 2.

PSVR 2 Best Games: Multiple players can be seen

4. Before Your Eyes

You know Before Your Eyes is good because it won countless awards on PC. Now carefully remade for PSVR 2, this indie darling is back and ready to make you feel the raw emotion of its story.

As our Before Your Eyes PSVR 2 review explains, you’ll need to interact with the memories of the recently deceased Benjamin Brynn as he journeys through the afterlife. His memories span his early years right the way through to his unfortunate demise and every single one of them holds the key to the answers you seek.

Except, Before Your Eyes isn’t an easy action-adventure; it’s a test of your might. Blinking is the only way you can interact with the game and that’ll either move you forward in time or help you interact with a memory in some shape or form.

It’s a different experience to everything else on this list and it helps showcase the PSVR 2’s eye-tracking technology.

5. No Man’s Sky

No Man’s Sky is well known at this point and the story of its fall and rise over the last seven years has been one of a kind. After adding PSVR support on PS4, PSVR 2 support is also available on PS5 and is still just as great.

In fact, with all the new features and additions that come with the PSVR 2, you will be getting the definitive version of the game. So, if you haven’t picked up this indie gem yet, make sure you do so on PSVR 2.

PSVR 2 Best Games: A soldier can be seen

6. Pavlov VR

As “one of the most realistic shooters on the market” our Pavlov VR review for PSVR 2 goes over just how impressive the FPS is. With a suite of weapons, modes, and maps, the game is packed full of content that you can play with PC players, creating a great unified VR experience.

Pavlov VR is one of the very few shooters available on the new headset and with its impressive multiplayer action, tight gunplay, and visuals, any fan of the genre should really dive in. Plus it has some great compatibility with Sony’s new headset and the features that come with it.

PSVR 2 Best Games: quill can be seen

7. Moss

Moss was one of the most heartfelt and sweet journeys on PSVR and it returns on PSVR 2 in remastered form. With updated visuals and enhanced features, Moss will no doubt warm your heart on PSVR2 as you seek to save Quill and help him on his journey.

While it isn’t quite as modern as its sequel, which is below, it is still one of the best adventure experiences you can have in VR. It’s also a great title for kids, a rarity when it comes to the top PSVR 2 games.

PSVR 2 Best Games: Quill can be seen

8. Moss: Book II

Following up on the original, Moss Book II is just as heart-warming as the first game. While it doesn’t quite have the same novelty as the first game does, Quill’s second adventure is just as fun in VR.

So if you or your family are keen to find a game everyone can enjoy in VR with the PSVR 2, Moss: Book 2 is a great choice. But, even if you are playing solo, Moss: Book 2 is still a wonderful adventure.

PSVR 2 Best Games: A player can be seen shooting

9. Pistol Whip

Pistol Whip is one of the most kinetic, thrilling, and enjoyable VR experiences ever made. The intensity of firing and shooting enemies as music blares from every direction is like no other. After years of updates, the game comes to PSVR 2 in its best form yet.

Playing Pistol Whip is unlike anything else and the feeling you will get will reverberate around your whole body. It will also make you sweat quite a bit as well.

PSVR 2 Best Games: A robot can be seen

10. The Last Clockwinder

One of the best puzzle games in VR. The Last Clockwinder was received extremely well on PC back in 2022. Your goal is to repair an ancient clock tower built into a magnificent and grand tree. Using a pair of special gloves anything you touch can be turned into a looping clockwork automaton and you will use them to get the clocktower working again.

Watching your work and efforts pay off as these automatons do all the work at once is a sight to behold and The Last Clockwinder will challenge you but also grip you as you tackle its puzzles.

PSVR 2 Best Games: A player can be seen racing

11. Gran Turismo 7

Our Gran Turismo 7 review details why it is a fantastic racing game that reaches new heights for the storied series. But, with PSVR 2 support, you can experience racing for a new perspective with one of the finest games in the genre.

If you are a racing fanatic you will fall in love with the PSVR 2 mode in Gran Turismo 7 as you see the detail of all the cars up close. But, if you aren’t experiencing the thrill of the track in VR is worth it.

PSVR 2 Best Games: The player can be seen

12. Rez Infinite

Rez Infinite is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. A kaleidoscope of colours, visuals, lasers, and music, all come together to create a fascinating and addicting game from Tetsuya Mizuguchi, the mind that went on to create Tetris Effect.

You would be mistaken to overlook Rez Infinite given the original version of Rez was released all the way back in 2001. But, it still holds up today and will floor anyone who plays it for the first time.

PSVR 2 Best Games: The beetle can be seen

13. Thumper

Capping off our list, Thumper is our last entry and our fourth music-focused game. It turns out VR is a great place for music and rhythm games. And Rhythm is the key to Thumper as it is a frustratingly difficult but captivatingly addicting rollercoaster where you strike bumpers and hit certain parts of the track as you race along as the small beetle to a boss or the next level.

Thumper was great on PSVR, but on PSVR 2 the new haptic feedback and enhanced visuals mean the game lights up your retinas in an entirely new way and immerses you like never before.

Best PSVR 2 games: Synapse key art

14. Synapse

This frenetic, high-octane roguelike shooter is making a huge splash as one of the best PSVR 2 games right now. If you’ve ever wanted a great shooter with telekinetic powers like you are Jesse from Remedy’s Control game, then Synapse may be a purchase you need to make.

Our Synapse review called it a “compelling addition to the world of VR shooters”, noting that it had “plenty of appetizing gameplay and intriguing monochromatic world-building.” This is a game you won’t want to miss.

With that, you have some of the best experiences money can be with Sony’s pricey new headset. Whether you are looking for a great action game, a frenetic and blood-pumping rhythm game, or a heartfelt, emotional journey PSVR 2 has a bit of everything, alongside some of the best PS5 games.

If you are looking for even more on top of the best PSVR 2 games, then take a look at some of the PS Plus Extra and Premium games with VR support you may be able to snag. You can also find some more co-op experiences to play with family and friends in our best PS5 co-op games article.
