Retaining his well-deserved 88 overall rating from last season, Bernardo Silva has been absolutely phenomenal at Manchester City. The Portuguese playmaker may not have quite the same return in the goals/assists department as some of the other mentions on this list, but his ability to make magic happen all over the pitch is unrivaled. An absolute workhorse, it’s not uncommon for Bernardo to cover the most distance out of anyone on the pitch.

However, Bernardo isn’t the only Portuguese CAM tearing up the Premier League. Bruno Fernandes has once again showcased why he’s a crucial piece in Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United side. Boasting 16 G/A contributions last season, Fernandes deserves a modest boost from the 86 overall rating he was given in last year’s game.

While Bernardo and Fernandes have continued to assert their dominance over the Prem, Arsenal’s Martin Ødegaard has finally had the breakout season that many expected him to have during his Real Madrid days. With a remarkable 15 goals and seven assists to his name last season, Ødegaard spent long stretches of the 2022/23 campaign being compared to the indomitable Kevin De Bruyne, and at one point was even considered the best midfielder in the league altogether. As such, a +2 to his overall is more than merited.

Elsewhere in the Prem, James Maddison is expected to get a major boost after yet another standout season with the now-relegated Leicester City. Despite the capitulation of The Foxes, Maddison still managed to notch up 19 G/A contributions last year. Having now signed for Tottenham Hotspur, we are certain that EA will give him the bump up he deserves.

The final players Prem-side who have made it onto our list are Mason Mount and Kai Havertz. Having both left Chelsea this summer for Manchester United and Arsenal respectively, the pair have a great deal of work to do to reach their highly-touted potential. For now we’ve kept them at 84 overall, though there’s high hopes that the duo will thrive under ten Hag and Mikel Arteta respectively.

Over in the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich fans will be grinning from ear to ear knowing that two of the top CAMs in world soccer play for the reigning Bundesliga champion. Though it’s rare to see two CAMs deployed in a single lineup, Thomas Müller’s versatility as a forward made fielding him simultaneously alongside the rapidly-ascending Jamal Musiala a breeze for the Bavarians.

While Müller’s output may have declined last season, his veterancy and sheer brilliance on the pitch ensures that he remains a step ahead of his understudy in the ratings, though we do expect some pretty spicy Musiala cards to pop up throughout the season.

Despite missing much of the season due to injury, Marco Reus battled back and continued to showcase why the man from Dortmund deserves to keep his FIFA 23 rating. Unfortunately, Nabil Fekir’s ACL injury was much more serious, and at 30 years of age we sadly wouldn’t be surprised if he can’t return to his previous level. A -1 has been given to his rating for now.

The importance of CAM players in EA FC 24

While you won’t see a CAM in many of the best EA FC 24 formations on our list, their are plenty of systems that deploy a CAM, such as Arsenal’s 4-2-3-1 that sees Ødegaard sit behind Gabriel Jesus. There are even systems that fit in multiple CAMs like the 4-1-4-1 Julian Nagelsmann deployed at Bayern on occasion last season, setting up Müller and Musiala side-by-side behind Serge Gnabry.

The best CAMs are oftentimes the key to unlocking a densely-packed defense. When playing against a team that likes to sit deep, having nimble creatives that can slip a ball through any wall to the awaiting forward is a recipe for success. Additionally, modern CAMs can often come deep, collect the ball, and then ping it into the path of a winger to start a devastating counter.

And that’s our compilation of the 10 best EA FC 24 CAM ratings. As some of the game’s long-standing stars begin to descend in the rankings, a new generation of rising talents is making its mark, while others are beginning to reach the peak of their careers.
